New York City’s QNA fuse hip-hop and jazz with marvelous results, and the group’s newest single “Fuck’M” is no exception. Grammy-nominated trumpet player and producer Theo Crocker kick starts the explosive tune with a dizzying solo, and the band’s impressive groove maintains that energy, while MC Supe works to take it to higher places: “I know you love to flow as free as me / The feel of the chase / Finding the place within intricately woven lines.”
Directed by Jonah Best, the noir-themed video is a tongue-in-cheek depiction of hip-hop stereotypes, “pushing back against those who think hip-hop is only about money, sex and drugs.” QNA and Best make their statement with a colorful, cinematic style that perfectly echoes the free-jazz delirium of “Fuck’M.” Watch the video above and check out more from QNA below.
