Last week, Snakehips‘ highly-anticipated new single was quietly leaked onto the web, but was quickly removed by any and all blogs who picked it up—presumably after the label intervened. After erasing any evidence of its existence, the duo officially debuted the track on MistaJam’s BBC Radio 1Xtra show earlier tonight. The song, which features Chance the Rapper and Tinashe, is what kids these days would call “fire,” emoji and all. While it’s a rather unexpected collaboration for any of the parties involved, it certainly feels like a natural fit. For starters, Tinashe puts that steamy voice of hers to use throughout the song, while Chance lays down some appropriately faded bars. With touches of R&B, hip-hop and Snakehips’ own infectious blend of chill-trap, it hits all the spots.
