What's This?

Strange Names are back at it again with their newest release, “I Can’t Control Myself.” After hearing the sensational jive that “Ricochet” resonates, this is a fresh reawakening from the group for which we’ve eagerly awaited. Echoing a sense of happiness and joy, reminiscent of a youthful and carefree lifestyle, Strange Names have created yet another shimmering work of aural bliss. Nostalgic guitar rifts, catchy lyrics, and an 80s-themed production give their sound a retro-future feel that is both evocative and timeless. Essentially, if you enjoy synthy, new wave music that takes you “back in the day”, Strange Names is just what you’re looking for.

Upon graduating, the trio, who originally met at the University of Minnesota, transplanted to Brooklyn to hone in on their musical talents. Their first full-length album, expected to drop May 19, will be called, Use Your Time Wisely.
