Los Campeinos! continue their run for the rock charts with their cathartic new album, No Blues. Up to this point, the dynamic Welsh outfit have delivered on all counts: Their testosterone-pumping anthem “What Death Leaves Behind” proved to be a forceful and appropriate album opener, while their searing follow up “Avocado, Baby” ensured that the band’s distinctively eccentric style remained intact. No Blues, the meeting ground for the two aforementioned tracks, is therefore an appropriate continuation of sounds past. Diving head first into the album, the band waste no time in drawing out their electrifying prowess. Though they have found their old self in No Blues, Los Campesinos! have undoubtedly improved on the production side of things: guitars are crisper, vocals are clearer and choruses are more anthemic — as if that was even possible.
