Emerging from a community of progressive electronic London based artists like Mo Kolours, Henry Wu, and her brother Paul White (known for 2014’s R&S Records-released Shaker Notes and various Danny Brown productions), Sarah Williams White introduces a much-needed female presence among the experimental soul scene. The multi-instrumentalist and vocalist cites acts like PJ Harvey, Erykah Badu, Thundercat, and Hiatus Kaiyote as contemporary inspirations that fueled the creation of “Hum” and her forthcoming mini-album Of The New World.
