When most bands first spring onto the scene, they are usually welcomed by a flood of remixes and mashups from eager DJs just waiting to get their hands on the flavour of the week. Surprisingly enough, The Neighbourhood were not met with the same courtesy when they gave us their melodious indie-pop ballad, “Sweater Weather,” back in March of last year. Although it may seem a little late to be touching base with the band’s breakout single, now, this fresh new remix from Little Daylight has proven too good for us to pass up.
After a string of successful remixes, Little Daylight continue to impress us with this newest labour of love. Taking the already infectious single and revamping it with pounding drums and roomy vocal cuts, Little Daylight are able to draw out the poignant elements of the original and prepare them for a night on the town. The mixture of shimmering synths and confident bassline really do bode well together in this remix, but there’s one thing I just can’t get off my mind: how did they manage to bring The Neighbourhood from the beach, to the dancefloor?
