Fistfuls of percolated bass and plodding drum breaks light a fire to this cherubic, head-rush of a beat. It’s all too often that electronic productions sacrifice their sense of groove, the function of their funk, when the tempo is intensified. That’s anything but the case for “Palindrome,” the most recent offering from the Brooklyn based artist Toulouse (who produced Kiah Victoria‘s Gravitate EP). There’s a cool confidence about this instrumental production and other releases by Toulouse, a sincere verve for all that swaggers and swerves. The essence “Palindrome” of sounds inextricably linked to the body, absolutely aimed at evoking a visceral physical response. Stream “Palindrome” and an early release from the producer called “Relapse” below.
