If you’re at all familiar with the French beat scene, there’s a good chance you’ve heard of Nowadays Records. Started in 2010 by Ugo De Angelis (aka Oogo) and Vincent Leibovitz (aka Chomsky), the label is behind some of the most exciting producers in the region, including Fakear and UNNO, a promising new trio from Dunkerque.
With a sound similar to that of James Blake and Maribou State, UNNO are just the latest group to give electronic music a human touch. Combining electronic elements with live instrumentation, their latest single “Salt” is a wonderfully hypnotic dance track that shutters and shakes for three-and-a-half tantalizing minutes before reaching a satisfying climax.
