British-born singer/songwriter Lucy Rose just released her latest track “Lines,” and we’ve already got it on repeat. While she may look like just another soft-spoken, female-folk act, Lucy Rose puts forth a much welcomed spin on the genre. “Lines” offers a truly dynamic combination of changing tempos with prominent drums and a voice to give Florence Welch a run for her money.
Having toured with Noah And The Whale, contributed vocals to two of Bombay Bicycle Club’s albums, and just scored a record deal with Columbia, it’s safe to say this girl’s got “breakthrough star” written all over her. She may be indie now, but with the release of her debut album Like I Used To approaching this fall, she may not be indie for long. All the more reason to crank this tune up, and come September (when her music comes flooding our radios), you can tell all your friends you discovered her first.
