Some of you may recognize Oli Chang’s name from Sydney-based dream-pop outfit, High Highs. But like most musicians these days, he is more than just a one-trick pony. In his part time, Chang doubles as a DJ, splitting his time between High Highs and his side-project, ANIMAL FEELINGS. An outlet for his growing interest in dance music, ANIMAL FEELINGS is as much an expression of his own creativity as it is a nod to the groovy, four-on-the-floor beats of ’90s pop music (I’m looking at you, Kylie Minogue).
This is no more apparent than on his recent collaboration with prominent Japanese disk jockey and style icon, Mademoiselle Yulia, more formally know as Yulia. Today, that collaboration, “Let Go,” gets the visual treatment from New York-based filmmaker and art director, Adam France. For the video, France commissioned dancers Elayna Lopez and Richard Kennedy to choreograph a routine that would capture the groovy nature of the song. Which, as you’ll see above, they seem to have done.
