What's This?

“Stonemilker,” the titular opening track from Björk‘s recently released Vulnicura (One Little Indian), written and produced entirely by Björk, was the opening selection from the matinee performance of her world tour at New York’s Carnegie Hall. The show is a first in a series of New York bookings, which coincide with her immersive retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art. The tickets to these shows are absurdly pricey, so shout outs to the wonderful individual who managed to sneak a decent camera into this extravagant venue. Despite the rather curious karaoke-style lyrics being projected behind the musicians, the performance is absolutely riveting. Björk performed alongside her musical collaborator Arca (who produced several tracks on Vulnicura), the fifteen-piece string ensemble Alarm Will Sound, and percussionist Manu Delago. Watch another video of the matinee performance and stream the studio version of “Stonemilker” below.
