Wet - Dreams

Okay, so I know the combination of artist and track title aren’t the greatest here, but that shouldn’t detract from the ethereal goodness that is “Dreams.” Along with Noah Beresin (a.k.a Xaphoon Jones), Wet have created a tumultuous R&B piece full of strong, disparate beats and flavourful hooks. The band, who recently signed to Neon Gold, have little to their name thus far — but come November, we will have a full 10″ EP in our hands. While the band released their eminent slow-burner “No Lie” last month, “Dreams” is the real reason the band have caught our attention. As it ticks along at a strange but compelling pace, the trio’s lead vocalist Kelly Zutrau lays her soft, mellow vocals a top the audible backdrop, giving this track some much needed “oomph.” It’s this bizarre entanglement of sounds that make this band so intriguing. And if they continue to put out genre-bending tracks like this in the future, there’s no way we could keep ourselves from listening.
