Young Wonder caught our attention a few years back with their piercing electronic-pop anthem “Orange,” and its follow up “Electrified,” which found the duo channeling Purity Ring. However, since that time, our seemingly beautiful relationship with the band has subsided. Over the past couple of years, the pair have been relatively quite, but last month we saw their return with the release of “Intergalactic.”
Today, they pick up where they left off, pushing their productions to new heights. “Enchanted” begins with a layer of bells and swelling synths, but eventually breaks the mould, shattering into a million little pieces. Rachel Koeman’s winsome vocals are suspended above a bed of modulated beats and electronic blips, making for a near-perfect production and fuelling the duo’s artistic endeavours.
