What's This?

Zack Sekoff just might be the youngest member L.A.’s prolific beat scene. As a teenager he spent time with the talented, and sadly deceased, jazz musician Austin Peralta, who worked closely with Thundercat (the bassist dedicated his Apocalypse LP to Peralta after he passed). Shortly after Thundercat dropped his spectacular single “Them Changes,” Sekoff (pronounced “sea cough”) dropped a trap alteration of the cosmic funk jam.

Sekoff’s debut full-length Remnants of a Winter Sun, dropped January 15 via Alpha Pup, features “Debauchery,” a collaboration with Thundercat that evokes some of the musician’s Cosmogramma-era material with Flying Lotus.
